Year of Projects: Week 4

Project Percentage Complete: 29%
Overall Percentage Complete: 14%
Number of Project Items: 28
Number of Added Items: 9
Total Items: 37

This has been a relatively productive week although I do not have much in the FO department to prove it. I grabbed some green yarn on Wednesday to make some green ice skates. I also started and finished a knit washcloth. I definitely am finding a preference of crochet for dish cloths and knit for wash cloths – I think it has a lot to do with the drape and texture each technique gives the yarn. I don’t use any different yarn for either, but just by changing out technique, I get two very different cloths.

I grabbed some yarn to make some chair slip covers too – I have finished two so far and I think they look really nice. They definitely serve a purpose so no matter what they look like, I’m using them *smiles* By adding 4 chair slip cover/wall protectors, my overall percentage went down.

Oooh, you're ahead of me!  I have three WIPs on the needles from my YOP and nothing on my completed list yet.  I love what you've added — happy crocheting!

I'm looking forward to seeing your lacy table runner. Do you have a pattern picked out?

I can't wait to see it done either *laughing* Seriously, I do not have a pattern picked out. I have a couple that I'm bouncing between but I'm still not 100%. I'm not a person who thoroughly enjoys thread crochet so I'm not sure how the patterns will work out, ya know? Do you have any suggestions? favorites?

Those little ice skates make my percentage look way better than it really is *laughs* I'm not sure I have your blog marked to follow in my reader – can you give me a link??? Thanks!

Interesting to know that the dishcloths and washcloths feel different and may lend themselves well to different crafts!

It may be personal preference or even something more technical to texture (or both) but that's what I'm finding right now. Perhaps it's a matter of the pattern chosen too. Specific crochet patterns may work as wash cloths too, I just don't know of it yet.

Hoping you'll post some pictures, particularly interesting in seeing your slip covers, would never think about knitting or crocheting them, so am most interested.

Hey there :) I actually posted pictures yesterday along with the pattern. I am sure I put it under the category “Original Patterns” and “Household” – of course, it's still on the main page of my blog if you check that out.

I have found a preference for knitted dish cloths.  They don't seem to stretch as much as crocheted ones.  I've not gotten very many projects completed either but I'm still plugging away.  I will be adding a new project to my list, a bunny, for a friends little girl.  It's too cute and I cannot resist.  You are making progress which is what the YOP is all about!
